Puente Genil Unveils Christmas Lights

Puente Genil, Spain, is set to unveil its traditional Christmas lights on November 21. This event marks the start of a major economic and cultural campaign, attracting tourists and boosting the local economy.

Puente Genil is preparing to welcome Christmas with the inauguration of its traditional Christmas lights display next Friday, November 21 (a week later than in 2024, the earliest ever). This highly anticipated event will mark the start of 'one of the most important campaigns of the year for the municipality, both in economic, tourist, and commercial terms, as well as in cultural and social spheres,' the town council emphasized in a statement. The Councillor for Festivals, Trade, Markets, Consumer Affairs, Agriculture, and Urbanism, Joaquín Reina, highlighted that 'Puente Genil once again positions itself among the top-tier cities in Spain for its Christmas lights display, which attracts thousands of visitors each year and significantly boosts our local economy, especially supporting commerce and hospitality.' For example, Estepa will unveil its lights on November 7. In this regard, Reina wished to thank the effort and commitment of Ximenez Group, 'a company that carries the name of Puente Genil worldwide and makes it possible for our town to proudly shine with one of the best light displays in Spain, on par with cities like Málaga, Seville, Córdoba, or Vigo.' The councilor also announced that the City Hall is finalizing the details of the Christmas 2025 cultural program, which will include activities for all audiences, with proposals 'that will bring life and atmosphere to the streets and squares of the municipality.'
